(#001) A large
fossil bone fragment from a wooly mammoth (from the North Sea). Dates from the late Pleistocene era. One of a group of nice
specimens I recently aquired (see picture above). This specimen weighs about 3-1/4 pounds and is over 20 inches in length
(about 4-1/2 inches wide). Perhaps part of the scapula. All of the specimens have been treated with PVA (Polyvinyl Acetate)
sealant. PVA is a professional archival sealant used for preparing fossils which helps stabilze and strengthen the fragile
surface of the specimen (purchased from the Black Hills Institute). It also brings out the color and texture of the fossil. SOLD
